A few more birds from Udhailiyah – Bird records by Nishan Xavier

Nishan is a birdwatcher and excellent photographer who lives in Udhailiyah in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This location is well inland but as can be seen from Nishan’s photos a few migrants pass through this site on migration. The area where Nishan goes is called Udhailiyah Heights and is within the well greened Saudi Aramco camp a probable reason for the good birds that turn up there. Below are a few photographs taken by Nishan over the last three months that he has just sent to me and kindly allowed me to use on my website. Most of the species are common resident birds or common passage migrants through the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia but there are few records from inland so these are valuable additions to the Saudi avifauna data.
Common Chiffchaff
Eurasian Blackcap - male
Eurasian Collared Dove
Eurasian Hoopoe
Turkestan Shrike
White-eared Bulbul
