Indian Silverbill - Dhahran Hills

A few migrants are still passing through Dhahran with the majortiy being waders and wheatears. The spray fields and scrubby desert area is the place to see the wheatears where one Black-eared Wheatear, four Isabelline Wheatears and two Northern Wheatears were present. This area also had a flowering grass that was attracting good numbers of House Sparrows and two ndian Silverbills were also present. Other birds seen included a Western Osprey in flight over the pond, two Grey Herons, 22 Northern Shoveller and one Glossy Ibis. Waders were still about with five Green Sandpipers, seven Little Stints and a Little Ringed Plover.

  1. Hi there! Is that really a little stint?? Not that I have any conclusive suggestion otherwize but think its legs are too brightly coloured and long. Also the breast are streaked. The jizz also seems a bit odd. Really interesting bird!
