Eurasian Coot – Dhahran Hills

Numbers of Eurasian Coot are increasing on the percolation pond and there are more than twenty birds present at the moment. They should be getting ready for the breeding season soon and already appear to be pairing up. Common Moorhen numbers still remain very low with less than ten birds being seen daily, Normally fourty birds are present in the middle of the breeding season so lets hope a few more appear later in the year. Passarines are very thin on the ground with only a Daurian Shrike seen of any note.
