Juvenile Little Bittern

Today 4th July 2011, I saw a juvenile Little Bittern in the reed bed around the percolation pond (top two photographs). There is a good chance this bird has been bred here as it is still early for juveniles to be dispersing from their regular breeding areas. Adult male and female were seen here in early May and the bottom two photographs of of the Adult female taken on 10th May 2011. The species is a regular breeder in the eastern province in the right habitat but has not been recorded breeding in Dhahran camp before.

Other birds see today include:-

Blue-cheeked Bee-eater - 1
Sand Martin - 3
Indian Silverbill - 4
