Winter visitors at Sabkhat Al Fasl – Bird records by Vinu Mathew

Vinu went to Sabkhat Al Fasl recently and took the following photographs of some of the winter visitors to the location. He was on foot as all the access tot eh site have been closed to stop illegal entry, as this location is a protected nature reserve. He saw the Pied Kingfishers that have been around since October as well as a number of White Wagtails, a species that has not arrived in the numbers that they normally do this year. Vinu also saw a few Grey-headed Swamphens, a species that can been seen almost any time you visit the location in good numbers and that sometimes allow very close approach.
