Greater Flamingo - Dammam - Al Khobar Wader Roost

Yesterday I went to Al Khobar to try to get myself an I-Pad 2, but even though the website of Extra Electricals said they had the one I wanted, when I got there they said they didn't. Oh well! I then decided to go off to Dammam - Al Khobar Wader Roost as it was just a few kilometres down the road. The tide was not very good and most of the birds were still a long way out on the mud-flats but there were five Greater Flamingo there which was a pleasant surprise as I have not seen any here before. Otherwise there were plenty of the normal birds seen over the last few weeks but today there were also eight Grey Plover which were new for the site. The weather was hot and windy today and there was a lot of dust in the air. This coupled with the heat haze made photography very difficult but here a couple of shots of Greater Flamingo and a couple of Slender-billed Gull, most of which were moulting adults.
