Returning Ruff

Today the continuing return of waders was enhanced with the occurrence of a single Ruff. The bird was associating with 37 Black-winged Stilts which continue to increase in numbers. All these birds were seen on the percolation pond, most in a corner where some exposed mud is present. I met Phil Roberts whilst out birding and he had his camera on him and managed to take a better photograph than me. Phil kindly let me use the photograph which is shown as the top photograph below, with my effort at the bottom.
